This was an academic re-scoring of a short film that follows a character rediscovering her father's memoirs. In order to capture the bittersweet feelings of nostalgia, I used spaces between the music to allow the visuals time to breathe. Soft notes plucked on a piano alongside lush string harmonies help to capture the hopes of the character.
